No way!

I can't believe some people!! This may possibly be one of the most ridiculous things I have ever read, but what should I expect coming from a BYU student. And even though Scott is originally from Oregon, I rest my case that people who choose to live in Utah Valley are sheltered, ridiculous, over the top and insane.

I love eating at Cafe Rio when I visit Utah and will happily continue :)

  1. That is a pretty crazy viewpoint. Does he also abstain from eating chocolate chip cookies because the vanilla extract used has alcohol in it?

Surely you have exceptions to your 'Utah Valley' comment ;) (I live in Orem)

  3. That is so wrong on so many levels. How embarrassing for him and he doesn't even know it. I just keep hoping it was a joke aimed at people who would think that. Sad!

  4. I can't believe that is real! What a doofus!

I guess I am in really big trouble, I use cooking wine!

  5. Wow, he's a nut, and I'm embarrassed for him. Maybe it's like cooking with wine- the caffeine cooks out? Seriously, I don't like Cafe Rio, but this makes me want to go and order this meal with the biggest Coke I can get.

  6. This "despicable deception"...YIKES. And I'm sure this guy never eats chocolate, which also has caffeine?! Wow...

To each his own, but to write a letter? Wow...

  10. Total wackiness - letters like this are why people assume church members are weird!
Love Cafe Rio (also love Utah Valley, btw - ha). Don't drink coke personally, but BYU will lose an awful lot of students if everyone who drinks caffeinated soda gets the boot.

  12. Haha. Is this guy just NOW finding this out? I've known that for years. What a weirdo. I'm still going to eat Cafe Rio. I might even get a Coke with it.

  13. Yeah, a lot of people here need to get over themselves.

  14. I... there... are so many... just... NO! This letter is just a big fat NO! Wow, sheltered much. I want to call this guy and remind him that the church used to own stock in Coke. I'm not sure if it still does, but it used to!
Poor guy... he's going to go into shock when he leaves BYU and enters the real world.

  15. Holy cow, I am really hoping that's a joke. Really and truly, please be a joke! I love how this guy has just interpreted the Word of Wisdom for all of us. Did he forget that the purpose of this life is to experience free agency? Even if a person makes very wrong decisions, that is still part of God's plan: to learn from our mistakes and create our own character based on free will.

It's one thing to strive to inspire others to do the right thing and stand up for what's right, and it's entirely another to tell other people how to behave or shame them. So wrong, so wrong.

    End rant.
