Our "garden"

We love where we live, got a great deal on rent (house prices are through the roof here), and have great landlords. Having said all of that, I would give anything for some grass and more than a 18 x 3 foot patch of dirt.

To add to the beautiful ambiance, our patio area is covered in luscious green turf and is surrounded by a very up-to-date urban fence. (I hope you hear the sarcasm screaming through your computer screen) But with our glorious patch of dirt, we managed to create a little veggie/herb "garden". You can see from the picture below why I put the word garden in quotes. We even had to put the peppers in pots because we ran out of room. At least we live in a great part of the city and have a fresh coat of paint on the walls. What more can we ask for....

  1. Hey, I've never had my own patch of dirt. Its funny how I'd love to have a 18x3" patch of dirt. I think it looks great. Well done.

  2. I agree with Di I wish we had that much dirt, last summer we had an herb garden in a little box, then some kid pulled everything up... congratulations on your garden

  3. So the other day I was watching a Saturday morning movie on TBS where they do "movie and a makeover" and they redid someone's rooftop patio. You said grass, and I totally thought of this.... they put grass on the roof in the makeover. It's fake grass, but it doesn't feel like turf, it supposedly feels like grass. Maybe you could get that.... have some "real" grass??

  4. I am totally with you on a garden. I can't wait to have a real one. So far I've successfully grown basil, but I've got some other herbs to plant...in pots. Good luck with yours!

Hey, off topic, but I am in need of some technical help. How do you put a picture in your post?

    Thanks love!

  6. Impressive! You have more of a garden than we do. We have planters growing chiles on our balcony ;) How I long for the day when we have a yard and a garden.

  9. Okay, so I have NO excuses now for putting off a vegetable garden due to lack of space!! I think you guys are so awesome for making a little oasis out of your "luscious green turf"! :-)
Yes, isn't that crazy that I married Jordan?! We've been married almost 5 years now and it just keeps getting better and better! I am so happy to hear that you are doing so well...both Jordan and I think of your family often...every time we pass your old house up the hill on Eastdell. Have a great week!
